A compelling television show requires more than just thorough preparation; a strong visual image is equally crucial. Stylist Barbara Žgalin, working on the World and 24UR program, explained this necessity. “I opted for an absolutely neutral image of our journalists and leaders – for a deliberate reason,” she stated.
“For men, we utilized black and gray, and for women, the same black, gray, beige, dirty white, and white.”
Despite this overarching neutrality, individual character was reflected through variations in the clothing. Petra Kerčmar wore a classic black suit, which was then authenticated by Slovenian fashion designer Maja Štamol. “It presented a somewhat contrasting look,” Žgalin noted.
“Darja was styled in lighter gray tones, including wider-leg pants, allowing us to subtly incorporate current trends and avoid overly rigid formality.”
Žgalin further elaborated on the styling choices. “With Maja Sodja, we embraced a more daring approach,” she said. “A narrow skirt, yet still slim, created a slightly provocative effect, but one that remained tasteful.” The overall good image was carefully considered to present a professional and engaging visual.
