Celje Handball Team Eliminated from European Cup Following Loss to Ohrid

The Celje team, representing Laško Brewery, has been eliminated from the European Cup following a 27-29 defeat to Ohrid in the return semi-final match held in North Macedonia. The score concluded the game at (11:11; 24:25). Ohrid secured their place in the European Cup final, having also defeated Tatabanya from Hungary in two matches.

Izviđač from Bosnia and Herzegovina were eliminated after losing to Tatabanya. The Celje team progressed through a challenging tournament, beginning with a first-round bye. They subsequently defeated Bocholt from Belgium in the second round, Vojvodina from Novi Sad in Serbia in the third, and Beşiktaş from Istanbul in the quarter-finals.

Their semi-final opponent was Buzau from Romania. This elimination marks the end of the Celje team’s campaign in the European Cup competition. The team’s performance throughout the tournament showcased a strong competitive spirit, navigating through rounds against several European rivals.
