Oil disaster: Pollution is spreading towards the area of Putin’s villa

Oil Refinery in Tuapse, Russia, Targeted in Repeated Ukrainian Attacks

Ukrainian forces conducted a fourth consecutive attack on the Tuapse oil refinery in the Krasnodar region of Russia on Friday, according to reports. The assault resulted in a renewed fire less than 24 hours after firefighters had successfully extinguished the previous blaze. No fatalities were reported, and 85 residents were evacuated from the surrounding area.

A significant response involved nearly 800 rescue workers and 48 pieces of firefighting equipment. Authorities confirmed that over 13,000 cubic meters of fuel and water mixture were removed from the affected sites. Despite these efforts, persistent black smoke continued to rise from Tuapse, prompting concerns about air quality and posing a significant environmental hazard.

Residents have reported heavily polluted air conditions. Noticias Ambientales reported fuel spills on the ground following the attack. The repeated attacks on the Tuapse refinery highlight ongoing tensions and underscore the challenges of managing the situation.

Investigations are underway to determine the precise nature of the attacks and assess the full extent of the damage.
