The Inclusion Culture Association has opted not to participate in this year’s call for holiday care programs, citing a long-standing commitment and significant challenges. The association explained that they had been implementing inclusive holiday care initiatives for nine years, encountering unsustainable normative pressures and substantial financial burdens alongside considerable organizational and logistical demands. Prior to the holiday season, the Ljubljana City Municipality (Mol) engaged in discussions with the association’s representatives.
As Mol communicated to the STA, the association submitted written proposals requesting an increased framework funding for the program prior to the meeting. The association confirmed they intend to finalize and submit revised proposals outlining changes to the program conditions by May 7th. The association will likely assess the extent to which these proposals are incorporated into the subsequent tender, scheduled for autumn.
Mol representatives stated that the association’s proposals “strongly exceed the capabilities of any municipality.” They emphasized the need for systemic solutions to address the issues raised. This decision follows a year of dedicated work by the association in providing inclusive holiday care services.
