Pogačar Prepares for Tour of Romandie Stage 79
Primož Pogačar will commence the 79th stage of the Tour of Romandie as a leading contender. The Slovenian cyclist has not participated in stage races since concluding his fourth Tour de France victory at the end of last year. Pogačar’s impressive career boasts 19 wins in multi-day cycling events.
Notably, he has secured eleven victories in the prestigious Monument classic, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, most recently claiming his fourth title on Sunday. With a limited field of specialists expected in time trials, the 27-year-old rider is anticipated to compete in the prologue, which includes a concluding short climb of 0.8 kilometers at a gradient of 6.9%. The organizers are seeking approval to incorporate content from social media and third-party providers.
This stage represents Pogačar’s return to competitive racing following a period of focused training and preparation.
