Teen Injured in Tractor Accident in Koper Region
KOPER – Emergency services responded to a serious accident involving a tractor in the village of Avber, near Koper, on Tuesday at approximately 2:10 pm. Police were alerted to the incident and found a 16-year-old male trapped beneath a tractor that had overturned on an unpaved hillside. Initial reports indicate the teenager was operating the tractor in reverse when it skidded down a slope approximately five meters in height.
He sustained critical injuries, including fractures of both femurs, and was transported by helicopter to the Ljubljana University Hospital for treatment. Following the initial incident, a citizen reported seeing fire originating from the area of Bernetič, directed towards the Rokava stream. Firefighters responded and successfully extinguished the flames.
Police immediately initiated a preliminary investigation and began collecting witness statements. The accident occurred on an unpaved surface. Further details are still emerging as authorities continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the event.
