Suspect in Washington Hotel Shooting to Appear in Court Monday

The FBI is continuing its investigation following a shooting incident at a Washington, D.C. hotel the day after the event occurred. Cole Thomas Allen, the 31-year-old suspect, is expected to be brought before a court on Monday.

Mr. Allen sounded the alarm following an incident where he discharged a weapon near a security checkpoint during the event. Police reports indicate that he was not asked to empty his pockets at the time.

Donald Trump, speaking in an interview following the incident, stated, “I was not worried. I understand life. We live in a crazy world.”

The investigation is being led by the FBI criminal investigation and terrorism task force, alongside the US Attorney’s Office.

US Attorney Todd Blanche indicated that preliminary findings suggest the suspect may have been targeting high-ranking White House officials. “Probably,” Blanche stated, “targeting high White House officials based on preliminary findings.” The precise motive of the alleged shooter remains under investigation. The investigation is ongoing and further details are expected to be released as they become available.
