Bullets were heard in the shopping center, at least 10 injured

Police Respond to Shooting at Shopping Center in Louisiana Capital

Louisiana State Police responded to an incident at a shopping center in the state capital shortly after midday on Tuesday. Emergency responders were present to assist those injured, with at least ten individuals receiving medical attention, including several children. Following the initial response, one individual suspected of involvement was able to flee the scene.

Law enforcement agencies, including local police and state troopers, are currently investigating and reportedly searching for additional suspects. Governor Jeff Landry has stated he is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating efforts with relevant police agencies. CBS News reported that the Governor had initially received limited information regarding the event.

This incident follows a previous mass shooting in Shreveport on Sunday, where a father fatally injured seven of his own children and seriously injured his wife and another woman. Authorities are investigating the connection between the two events. The shopping center was placed on lockdown following the initial occupation by police.

Investigations are ongoing, and further details are expected to be released as they become available.
