Strong Initial Demand Reported for LA28 Ticket Sales
Initial sales figures for the first phase of ticket sales for the Los Angeles 28th Olympic Games have been described as “historic,” according to LA28 executive Reynold Hoover. The launch saw significant interest from both domestic and international audiences. Approximately 95 percent of tickets priced at $100 or less were purchased by individuals residing in the Los Angeles and Oklahoma City metropolitan areas.
A substantial portion, around half a million tickets priced at $28, were sold to local buyers. The first phase encompassed sales of tickets across 85 countries worldwide. Notably, pre-sale interest was particularly high in several nations, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, and Japan.
Data indicates strong engagement with specific sports, with gymnastics demonstrating the greatest popularity among ticket buyers. Soccer also generated considerable interest, with a significant number of $28 tickets sold to local residents. These initial sales figures represent a strong start to the ticket rollout process, reflecting broad global interest in the upcoming games.
