Lufthansa cancels many flights due to pilots’ strike

Lufthansa has confirmed that it anticipates operating at least fifty percent of its planned flights despite the ongoing strike. Specifically, a significant portion, approximately sixty percent, of long-distance flights are slated to proceed as scheduled. The Vereinigung Cockpit pilots’ union indicated that this particular strike will be less extensive than the previous one, which occurred a month prior.

Union chief Andreas Pinheiro anticipates the cancellation of approximately three hundred flights each day. Passengers traveling to and from Slovenia will experience disruptions due to the strike. At Jože Pučnik Airport, a Lufthansa morning flight from Brnik to Frankfurt, originally set to depart at 9:55 a.m., has been cancelled.

However, the morning flight to Frankfurt remains on the timetable, scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Furthermore, the evening Lufthansa flight to Brnik from Frankfurt, originally scheduled for 22:10, has also been cancelled. Conversely, the evening arrival in Slovenia at 22:10 is not affected.

These disruptions highlight the impact of the current flights strike on travel plans.
