Collision Reported on Istrian State Road
A traffic accident occurred on Saturday at approximately 13:30 on the state road connecting Funtana and Poreč, according to a report from the Istrian police. The incident involved a 20-year-old man driving a car registered in Pula and another vehicle, a Slovenian car. Preliminary reports indicate the Pula-registered car was traveling at a high speed, passing a convoy of vehicles.
This action resulted in a collision with a Slovenian car that was executing a left-hand turn. The driver of the Slovenian car was a 39-year-old citizen. As a result of the impact, a Slovenian child sustained serious injuries, alongside his 39-year-old mother who received only minor injuries.
Both were transported to Rijeka by helicopter for medical treatment. The child’s father, who was also driving the Slovenian car, and a third passenger were taken to Pula hospital with slight injuries. Medical personnel have stated that the child’s condition is not life-threatening.
