After the last lap, the bus overtook the pedestrian

Police responded to a traffic incident yesterday at approximately 13:40 on Koroška cesta in Kranj. The accident was attributed to an 18-year-old moped driver. He was maneuvering while attempting to pass a bus that had stopped at a pedestrian crossing.

This resulted in a collision with a pedestrian who had rightfully crossed the road. The police department in Kranj reported that both the pedestrian and the driver fell to the ground following the impact. They sustained minor injuries and received immediate medical assistance.

Subsequently, a rescue vehicle transported them to a local medical facility for further care. Following the event, investigators suspected the driver was operating a modified moped. A technical inspection was conducted, revealing that the moped was capable of reaching a dangerous speed of 86 kilometers per hour.

This significantly exceeded its legal constructional speed limit of 25 kilometers per hour. As a consequence, the moped was seized, and the driver is now facing prosecution. The police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident involving the pedestrian.
