More than two percent of the ballots were marked as blank. This decisive victory confirms the desire within the club’s fanbase for laporta to once again guide the organization. The 36-year-old lawyer, previously in charge from 2003 to 2010 under Sandro Rosell, has a significant history with the multi-sport club, encompassing basketball and handball.
Following a period serving as a member of the Catalan parliament from 2010 to 2012, laporta resumed his role as Barcelona’s president on March 7th, 2021. He subsequently stepped down from the position in February. The results demonstrate a strong backing for the experienced figure to continue shaping the club’s future.
