Petrol Faces Audit Requests from SDH and Capitalia
Ljubljana – Petrol, the Slovenian energy company, is facing scrutiny following requests for special audits filed by SDH and Capitalia, each holding significant stakes in the company’s share capital. SDH, which owns 12.7% of Petrol’s shares, and Capitalia, with 10.8% ownership, have submitted a request for a decision on proposals regarding a series of audits. The primary focus of the proposed audits centers on Petrol’s operations, particularly concerning its gas station network and transactions involving the Perspektiva FT group, owned by the Južna spouses.
Petrol’s management and supervisory board have responded to the proposals, deeming several of them inappropriate. Specifically, a request to assess the impact on management was considered inadmissible, as it falls outside the scope of a special audit. Furthermore, some proposals were criticized for lacking sufficient detail and extending beyond the broad operational range of the company.
The state of Slovenia is directly a shareholder, holding 10.8% of Petrol’s shares, and is involved in the ongoing discussions surrounding the proposed audits. The situation highlights ongoing concerns about transparency and operational oversight within the partially state-owned petrol company.
