Golob is not yet holding up a white flag, GS is waiting for the Democrats’ response

Negotiations between the ruling SDS party and the opposition Democrats continue with a layered approach, according to recent developments. The SDS has reportedly unofficially designated members to engage in discussions with Democratic representatives across various levels, extending beyond coordination with President Anže Logar. These designated members are actively presenting coalition proposals directly to Logar’s deputies and local party members.

The intention is to ensure that the SDS’s proposals reach a broader audience within parliament, aiming to increase their visibility and influence among those who will ultimately cast the deciding votes. Meanwhile, the Democrats have not disclosed attendance figures for today’s meetings. Following unsuccessful negotiations, the Svoboda party has also excluded the New Slovenia party from recent discussions.

Svoboda anticipates that no party, including opposition representatives, will submit the required 46 signatures to the state president by Monday. This indicates a continued impasse in efforts to secure a coalition government. The situation remains fluid as parties pursue different strategies in their attempts to form a governing majority.
