Fuel prices are increasing across the board, according to the latest announcements from the Ministry. The price of 95-octane petrol at stations outside motorways and expressways will rise to €1.653, up from its previous price of €1.616. Without regulatory intervention, the price would have been €1.819.
Diesel prices are also seeing an increase, rising to €1.894, a change from the previous price of €1.807. If unregulated, diesel prices would have reached €2.077. Heating oil prices will increase by 9.9 cents, moving to €1.555.
The government has maintained the current excise duty on petrol, but the excise duty on diesel and heating oil is already at its lowest possible level. In response to rising fuel costs following the conflict in the Middle East, the government has temporarily suspended the collection of environmental taxes on fuel.
