A 78-year-old man died after an incident involving an electric scooter in the Ponikva area of Celje, Slovenia, according to the Police Department (PU) Celje. The man was taken to Celje hospital where he succumbed to his injuries late in the evening. Initial reports indicate the man was operating an electric scooter when he left the roadway in the early hours of the morning while descending the hill.
He subsequently fell into a roadside ditch. A citizen who witnessed the incident immediately provided first aid to the man. Emergency services transported him to Celje hospital for treatment.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the 78-year-old died in the hospital that evening. This incident marks the sixth fatality within the jurisdiction of the Celje Police Department this year. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
