Ice-cream eggs, you found a vial with the inscription polonium 210

A bottle containing the radioactive substance polonium 210 was discovered yesterday in Vaihingen an der Enz, a town northwest of Stuttgart, Germany. The 50-milliliter bottle, marked with “Polonium 210” and a red cap, was found while a group was searching for Easter eggs in a garden. Authorities initiated a large-scale operation following the discovery of the potentially deadly substance.

Firefighters were involved in the operation. Andy Dorroch, the commander of the firefighters at the scene, reported that initial readings for detecting radioactivity were conducted at the location, but all results were negative. He confirmed that no personnel were injured during the discovery or removal of the bottle.

German Ministry of the Environment experts secured the bottle from the garden and transported it for analysis. The city council is expected to examine the bottle’s contents. The discovery prompted a thorough investigation into the source and handling of the radioactive material.
