The Pittsburgh Penguins secured a 5-2 victory over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday. Sidney Crosby led the way for the Penguins with a two-goal, two-assist performance, extending his NHL point total to 1759 – ranking him seventh all-time in league history. Jevgenij Malkin contributed two assists in the game, bringing his career point total to 1405 and placing him 23rd on the NHL’s all-time list.
Malkin currently holds the third-highest position among active NHL players. Anže Kopitar also added to the Penguins’ scoring efforts, accumulating 1314 points and securing a place on the league’s all-time list at 38th. Elsewhere in the NHL, the Minnesota Wild defeated the Detroit Red Wings 5-4, while the Philadelphia Flyers earned a 2-1 victory over the Boston Bruins in overtime.
The Ottawa Senators were also in action. The Toronto Maple Leafs currently hold the third position in the Western Conference, trailing the Penguins by several points. The Red Wings remain in tenth place in the Eastern Conference, close behind Philadelphia.
