Jakov Jozinović, a prominent singer from the Balkans, has recently lost her position as the most popular artist in Slovenia due to a viral TikTok trend. The revelation came during a recent appearance on the POPcast, where singer Kani remarked on the situation with a lighthearted tone. Jozinović, known for performing in large venues across the Balkans, including Ljubljana’s Stožice stadium, gained significant recognition with her singles “Birthday” and “Ona,” with “Big Poppa” serving as her breakthrough hit.
The surge in popularity stemmed from a viral TikTok sound featuring a verse written by Kani. “I didn’t anticipate the verse would become so widely recognized and humorous,” Jozinović explained. “I initially promoted the song using the first verse, and after that, I wasn’t sure what to promote next, so I moved on to the second.”
She described the success of the viral segment, “Kani zdej ne more, dela ‘money’,” as a fortunate development.
“At the same time, it’s proving to be a valuable tool for promoting my music.”
