Mid-week cold front will arrive, the heat will slightly subside

A change in weather patterns is anticipated mid-week as a cold front moves into the region. According to meteorological reports, drier and slightly cold air is expected to flow in from the northeast. This dry weather pattern is forecast to persist throughout the remainder of the week.

Currently, high heat levels are noted for Primorska and the interior lowlands of Slovenia, for which heat load warnings remain in effect. Today, temperatures are expected to reach approximately 35 degrees Celsius, with Gorizia forecasting morning highs up to 38 degrees Celsius. Looking ahead, while temperatures are predicted to moderate slightly, particularly reaching around 30 degrees Celsius on Friday in Primorska and inland areas, the risk profile remains elevated.

Authorities caution that despite the cooling trend, the high fire risk for natural environments persists due to ongoing drought conditions. Furthermore, parts of Primorska are under a very high fire risk advisory.
