The most expensive player in the club’s history will be at Bijol

Leeds United has reportedly agreed on a transfer to Manchester City for £46.7 million, supplemented by additional assets, from their current club, Trafford. This transfer fee surpasses the previous record set by Georginio Rutter, who joined in 2023 for £42 million. The acquisition of Trafford, who is currently the second-choice goalkeeper for the England national team behind Jordan Pickford, would establish him as the fourth most expensive goalkeeper in history.

The list of more expensive transfers includes Kepa Arrizabalaga’s move to Chelsea for £84 million, Alisson Becker’s transfer to Liverpool for £78 million, and Andre Onana’s move to Manchester United for £55 million. This transfer marks the third significant strengthening move for Leeds United this summer. Previous additions included the signing of striker Harry Wilson from Fulham, who was later transferred to Manchester United.

The reported £46.7 million fee makes this one of the more expensive transfers for the club in recent history.
