Gorazd Pogorelčnik, associated with the Slovenian Ski Association, provided an update regarding the financial stability of the sport. He confirmed that any previously missing funds have been replenished, and the association benefits from several long-term sponsorship agreements with its key partners. According to Pogorelčnik, this stability ensures sufficient operational funds for both the current and the subsequent season.
Specifically, the funding allocated for ski jumps and Nordic combined disciplines totals 3.7 million euros. Pogorelčnik highlighted his deep involvement in the sport, noting his decades-long history as both a major producer of household electrical appliances in the region and a consistent sponsor of Slovenian ski jumps spanning over thirty-five years. Addressing the needs of the athletes, he announced that the most prominent advertising space on competitors’ helmets is now available.
While expressing hope that the athletes will successfully secure personal sponsorships and partnerships, Pogorelčnik reassured the community that the Slovenian Ski Association (SSK) has established a dedicated group. This group is prepared to offer support to the competitors should they face difficulties in securing private funding for their careers in the competitive world of ski and Nordic sports.
