A serious incident occurred at a stadium, resulting in 47 injuries and one fatality. According to Juan Carlos Velasco, Minister of Health, the event was reported to the media. Details of the incident were not disclosed.
Initial reports suggested the tragedy stemmed from a collapse of a section of the stadium wall. However, Alianza Lima, the football team, subsequently issued a statement on X, clarifying that the accident was not caused by “the collapse of walls or structural failure of the sports complex.”
Mr. Velasco stated that 39 individuals were transported to hospitals across the Lima region.
Three of those injured were admitted in critical condition. Firefighter Marcos Pajuelo confirmed to journalists that the “construction of the southern stands” was ongoing at the time of the incident. Further investigation is underway to determine the precise cause of the event.
