Epilogue of the accident in Vintgar: Hungarian got a ‘significant’ compensation

A Hungarian tourist who sustained a severe head injury at Vintgar Gorge in July 2021 has reportedly received substantial compensation five years after the incident, marking the conclusion of a legal dispute, according to her husband. The accident occurred while the tourist was visiting the Vintgar Gorge with her husband, daughter, and nephew. During the outing, a rock fell, resulting in a serious head injury.

Following the incident, the victim required weeks in a coma and subsequently faced severe, lasting consequences. She was previously employed as a speech therapist, a profession she can no longer perform. Her husband confirmed that the legal matter concluded with a settlement, though he noted that the precise amount of the compensation remains undisclosed.

Anže Zalar, the victim’s representative lawyer, corroborated this, stating that the settlement’s terms are confidential. The resolution of the claim following the initial accident in Vintgar Gorge highlights the protracted legal process following severe injuries sustained in the gorge. While details regarding the final financial compensation are protected by the terms of the settlement, the successful resolution marks a significant conclusion to the family’s ordeal following the accident.
