Shocking scenes from Medjugorje: vandals desecrated the holy place

Around 4 a.m., vandalism occurred at the Hill of Apparitions in the area associated with Medjugorje. Reports indicate that a statue depicting Mary was defaced by being coated in black paint. Furthermore, an inscription in English was written on the base of the statue, reading, “Devil in a wing.”

Adjacent to the main statue, perpetrators also vandalized a nearby banner.

This banner contained several inscriptions critical of the site, including the statements: “Medjugorje is a fraud,” “Mary = devil,” and “Only Jesus.”

The vandalism was not limited to the main figures. Another significant symbol associated with Medjugorje, the Blue Cross located at the foot of the Hill of Apparitions, was also targeted. This symbol was marked with the inscription “ZLO.”

Sources reporting the incident noted that the vandalism represented multiple acts of defacement directed at key religious symbols in the area.

The actions involved both painting and the placement of inflammatory signs, creating a scene of religious defacement at the site. The incident drew attention to the ongoing controversy surrounding the apparitions and the religious significance of the location.
