A weak earthquake in the vicinity of Kobarid

The Seismology Office at the Environmental Agency of the Republic of Slovenia issued a report regarding a recent earthquake event. According to the agency, the intensity recorded across the wider epicentral area did not surpass European Seismic Scale (EMS-98) Level III. Despite the measured intensity, residents in several localities, including Kobarid, Tolmin, and Bovec, as well as surrounding regions, reported feeling the tremors.

The official assessment indicates that while the event was registered, the shaking was perceived by some inhabitants as weak. The reports confirm that the earthquake was felt across a noticeable radius, prompting official monitoring from Slovenian geological authorities. The data provided by the Environmental Agency suggests that the localized impact was minimal, with the recorded intensity remaining below the upper thresholds of the EMS-98 scale.

Authorities advised residents to remain vigilant but did not issue warnings of significant structural damage. The monitoring efforts confirm the parameters of the earthquake, providing a clear measure of the seismic activity experienced by communities in the region, particularly in areas like Kobarid.
