On Sunday, a 43-year-old man was involved in a vehicular accident while operating a motorcycle. The incident occurred as he was traveling on the main road connecting Vanganela to Montinjanu. Reports indicate that the accident resulted from the rider driving too close to the right edge of the roadway.
This proximity led to the motorcycle veering off the paved surface and impacting a ditch situated alongside the road. Following the impact, the man fell and was found lying in the ditch. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and successfully initiated resuscitation efforts at the location.
After stabilization efforts were completed on site, the victim was transported to the General Hospital in Izola for further medical care. Authorities were subsequently notified by the General Hospital in Izola that the rider had unfortunately succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the facility. The police department from Koper was informed of the fatality then, concluding the sequence of events following the initial accident.
