Helicopter rescued a German and an American

Emergency rescue operations were conducted in the mountainous region near the village of Krn following two separate incidents involving foreign visitors. Yesterday evening, authorities were alerted at 8:29 pm regarding a foreign hiker who had fallen from a mountain path situated between Kuhinja and Jezero in the Lužnica area. The individual was reportedly unable to descend safely due to the challenging terrain.

The incident occurred near the Lužnica lake, a high-altitude body of water within the Krn mountain range in the Western Julian Alps, located at 1,801 meters. Rescue efforts involved the Tolmin Rescue Service, who assisted the German hiker and confirmed that the individual was found unharmed. They subsequently coordinated care with the on-call mountain rescue team from Brnik.

Later that same evening, a second rescue required helicopter deployment after a 21-year-old citizen of the United States sustained an injury while rock climbing near Log pod Mangartom. These events followed an early morning excursion where a group of foreign tourists, accompanied by a local guide from Bovec, were exploring the surroundings of the Krn mountain village. The coordinated response highlights the ongoing activity and the specialized rescue resources utilized in the challenging topography of the area.
