First on vacation, then on sick leave, but still reachable on Progras’s phone

Zoran Stevanović, President of the National Assembly and the first man of Truth, previously assured the public that Boris Mijič would address recent events in person. Last week, Stevanović stated his conviction that Mijič would be able to appear before cameras to provide explanations. However, the timeline has shifted significantly from that expectation.

Contrary to the expected public appearance, Mijič has been on sick leave since Monday, failing to respond to calls from reporters or sources. This unexpected absence contrasts with his continued professional activity. Despite being medically unable to work, reports indicate that Mijič has been actively requesting new employees for the company Progros since the beginning of this week.

Further complicating the narrative is the fact that Mijič has not held the position of company director since the middle of June. Adding to the discrepancies, current job advertisements for the director role are no longer visible today. These inconsistencies have prompted scrutiny regarding the potential incompatibility of his current role and status.

Consequently, the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption (KPK) has initiated an examination of Mijič’s involvement with several associated companies. This ongoing investigation suggests that questions surrounding his operational capacity and professional standing remain unresolved, despite initial assurances regarding his public reappearance.
