Together with the pension, the retirees also receive an annual allowance. How much is it?

The distribution of the annual allowance extends to beneficiaries of disability benefits, mirroring the structure applied to recipients of pension payments. These allowances are structured into three distinct classes, ranging in value from 160 to 270 euros. The Pension and Disability Insurance Institute (Zpiz) is scheduled to pay a total of nearly 175.2 million euros for this purpose, serving approximately 646,300 beneficiaries.

Of this total, the majority—172.6 million euros—will be allocated to over 635,500 pension recipients, while a smaller portion of 2.5 million euros is designated for more than 10,700 beneficiaries receiving disability benefits. The calculation for each individual’s annual allowance is comprehensive. The amount is determined by considering several factors to ensure equitable distribution.

These factors include the existing amounts of widow’s or family pension benefits, differences between the disability and standard pension payments, and any pension income received from foreign pension or disability insurance sources. This detailed assessment ensures that the final allowance amount accurately reflects the recipient’s total benefits portfolio. The careful structuring of these payments, denominated in euros, maintains consistency across various types of support, whether it is a primary pension payout or an supplementary disability allowance.

The goal is to provide a stable annual financial support system for all eligible individuals.
