Aleksandar Vučić announced that new measures, primarily intended for the poorest segments of the population, will be presented on Monday. Due to the large-scale rally held today, which according to reports from Serbian media saw attendance from across Serbia, as well as from the Republic of Serbia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia, the central area of Belgrade will be closed to all traffic until Monday morning. During the rally, participants unfurled a substantial Serbian flag, which Serbian media reported was over 500 meters long and ten meters wide.
The main event was staged in the square situated in front of the Serbian parliament, with related programming commencing as early as yesterday. This pro-government rally is part of the “Serbia Wins” campaign, an initiative through which Vučić is attempting to counter the ongoing campaign by the student movement, “Students Win,” which has been active over the last several months. The gathering underscores the political focus on national unity and social support ahead of the planned announcements for Monday.
