‘I want to be fast, that’s the main goal’

Marc Marquez arrived at the Dutch Grand Prix with the objective of securing his third consecutive victory in the Netherlands. However, the proceedings during Friday’s practice sessions did not immediately align with his expectations. In the initial training session, Marquez recorded the tenth-best time, and a subsequent session saw another rider posting a faster time than his own.

The second practice session was characterized by several incidents, notably involving reigning champion Marco Bezzecchi. Despite the on-track activity, Bezzecchi demonstrated considerable pace, establishing the fastest times in both training slots. Reflecting on the day’s proceedings, Bezzecchi offered an assessment of the conditions.

He stated that the day provided a positive environment for riding, acknowledging the benefit of the track feel despite the heat, which contrasts with conditions where the team typically faces challenges due to lower temperatures. While acknowledging that continuous improvement is necessary across several areas, he expressed general satisfaction with the performance. Looking ahead to the main event next Saturday, Bezzecchi conveyed optimism, stating that the goal is to achieve a measurable step forward in performance.

The focus remains on capitalizing on the track conditions in the Netherlands to build momentum toward the championship battle.
