Child falls at Bled Castle: walked on an unpaved road

A recent incident near the castle hill in Bled involved a boy who fell from a significant height. According to reports, the individual descended a path, fell over a 20-meter wall, and subsequently slipped approximately 20 meters down a steep forest slope. Martin Šolar, an external expert consulted regarding the maintenance of paths in the area, commented on the circumstances of the accident.

Šolar indicated that the specific location where the fall occurred was an unmade and unmarked exit path leading through the forest to the edge, which presented a dangerous drop-off. He emphasized that while accidents can occur anywhere, even on the most maintained routes if the ground is muddy, the incident in question happened outside the established, safe pathways within Bled. Šolar noted that individuals often venture into unfamiliar areas, sometimes seeking undocumented experiences, which can lead them to highly dangerous locations.

When questioned about why the boy ventured down this unmarked trail, Šolar stressed the inherent risks associated with such off-path exploration. The expert concluded by highlighting that the accident took place in an area that lacked proper infrastructure and signage, suggesting that the danger stemmed from deviation from the officially maintained routes surrounding the castle and through the steep terrain of Bled.
