Police Investigate Suspicious Emails Across Several Slovenian Cities
Slovenian police from Ljubljana, Celje, Maribor, Murska Sobota, and Novo mesto were alerted to a series of emails and immediately initiated an investigation. The General Police Directorate (GPU) reported that officers responded swiftly, collecting notifications and tracing the origins of the messages. Alongside this, urgent measures were taken to safeguard public safety and well-being.
Initial findings suggest the emails may have been generated automatically. The District Court in Novo mesto has documented the situation with photographic evidence. 24ur.com reported that police are collaborating with relevant institutions to conduct inspections of establishments that received the communications.
During these inspections, no explosive materials or other hazardous objects were discovered, according to a subsequent statement from the GPU. The investigation is ongoing, and police are evaluating the possibility of a criminal act involving the intentional disruption of public order. Authorities are considering charges related to causing general unrest as part of their ongoing assessment of the situation.
Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
