Indictments Finalized Against NSi Leaders in Knovs Case
The District Court in Ljubljana has finalized indictments against NSi President Janez Žakelj, Infrastructure Minister Jerneja Vrtovca, and NSi parliamentary group leader Janez Žakelj, alongside former head of MP Jožef Horvath. This follows a February indictment by the Specialized State Prosecutor (SDT). The court’s decision indicates the prosecutor possesses sufficient evidence to demonstrate potential criminal activity involving the nsi members.
Specifically, the indictment alleges actions related to the former Specialized National Security Service Commission (Knovs). The court has ordered the appearance of Janez Žakelj, as President of NSi and current leader of the parliamentary group, and Jožef Horvath before a judge. A public hearing regarding the case is scheduled.
Responding to the indictments, former members of Knovs have not yet issued a formal statement. The Specialized State Prosecutor’s office is expected to proceed with the investigation and present its case in the upcoming public hearing. The outcome of this legal process will determine whether criminal charges are formally filed against the implicated nsi members.
