The Mayor of Moravče remains in custody

The Ljubljana District Court’s decision on Milan Balažic’s 30-day detention, who was at the center of extensive criminal investigations at the end of May, was adopted last week. Milan Krstić, Balažic’s defense attorney, has announced an appeal, but it appears that he has not succeeded. “In connection with your question, we would like to inform you that the Ljubljana High Court has confirmed the decision of the first-instance court, which followed the prosecution’s proposal to order detention in the case in question,” the Specialized State Prosecutor’s Office explained to STAT.

The detention order followed the extensive criminal investigations that took place in several cities at the end of May, in which the criminals were looking for evidence of more than 20 criminal offenses, including taking and giving bribes, accepting benefits for unlawful acts, and so on.
