In Koseze, we joined the runners of the NLB Ljubljana Marathon Preparation club, who also persist in regular training in the summer heat. Together with coach Boris Fluher, we checked how the preparations are going during hot days, what adjustments high temperatures require and why caution is especially important in summer running. “First of all, because of the heat. It is already clear to us that we can take advantage of running in the morning or evening cold. It is also important to think about hydration during the day.
Perhaps we should reduce the intake of sweet drinks, energy drinks and coffee and give more emphasis to water. This way, we do not arrive dehydrated or in minus, but can perform the training normally and quality.
