Lyhanna’s girlfriend disappeared at the end of May after school in her hometown Fleurance, north-west of Toulouse. Her body was found in a deserted grain silo about 15 kilometres from her home a week later, on Thursday. On Monday, the investigators arrested a 41-year-old man in connection with the case, the father of Lyhanna’s classmate.
The case was met with outrage when it was revealed that the man had been accused of abusing younger girls in the past. Two investigations against him were concluded by French media reports for lack of evidence, in the third case he was fired from his job as a school janitor due to allegations of improper conduct towards the teenager.
