We could say that behind every successful athlete is a strong family. Today, at the conference More than play, organized by our media house, we heard the stories of parents who stand behind world-famous athletes. Among them was Marjeta Pogačar, who still remembers the first training sessions of the best cyclist of all time.
“Be happy, enjoy, have a good race with your peers or team, good training and get along well. For me it always meant a lot that friendships were forged in the sports environment,” she said about it. She also spoke about the hard trials she had to go through, as she told about the father of one of the world’s most successful tennis players, Novak Djokovic.
“We didn’t have a pub or a flat and so on. We fought and were together as a family. Family is the basis of every successful athlete.”
