Florentino Perez won 21,741 votes or 65% of all votes in Sunday’s elections. “Together we will work to keep Real in the limelight. We will fight until the end to reach the 16th European Cup.
Real won, we set an example of democracy, transparency and coexistence,” Perez said in his speech after the elections, among other things. Perez has been the president since 2000 (except for the period between 2006 and 2009) and will be at least until 2030, when Enrique Riquelme is likely to try again. Interestingly, Perez did not have a rival in the last elections in 2013, 2017, 2021 and 2025.
Under Perez’s leadership, Real won the Champions League seven times, and as many as seven times in the Spanish championship. The Madrid club won three more royal cups under his guidance, and seven more in the Spanish league.
