We are waiting for new prisons, congestion is expected

Ongoing Road Work Causes Traffic Disruptions Across Slovenia

Traffic congestion persists across several sections of Slovenian motorways due to ongoing maintenance and construction work. Significant delays are currently being experienced between Postojna and Brezovica towards Ljubljana, as well as between Zadobrova and Domžale towards Celje. Work is concentrated across numerous motorway junctions, including those on the Štajerska, Primorska, and Vipava highways.

Specifically, activity is focused at locations such as Šentilj, Slovenske Bistrice, Konjice, Domžale, Zadobrova, Ravbarkomanda, and Razdrt. These works are part of a broader project aiming to improve conditions on the Mura, Gorenjska, and Primorska motorways. Approximately 60 kilometers of motorway are currently subject to construction work, with completion of certain sections anticipated by July.

Authorities anticipate continued disruptions throughout the summer months. Closures are expected to be implemented on already congested sections, including the entrance to Postojna towards Ljubljana on the Primorska highway, with a planned closure expected before 5 p.m. on Saturday, lasting until this Saturday.

Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and allow for extended travel times.
