The former Trump adviser is a paid lobbyist for the Republic of Serbia

Retired General Michael Flynn has registered as a lobbyist for the Republic of Serbia, according to filings with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Foreign Agents Registration Office. This development, first reported by the Associated Press a month prior and confirmed on Monday, marks a significant turn following Flynn’s involvement as an advisor to then-candidate Donald trump during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Flynn’s role has involved providing strategic advice and cultivating connections with officials within the trump administration. The Republic of Serbia, and specifically a designated entity within Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), is reportedly benefiting from this access. This activity follows Flynn’s departure from his position during trump’s first term after admitting to investigators he had misled the FBI regarding his contacts with Russian officials as part of the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Flynn was subsequently pardoned by trump, and received compensation related to a settled lawsuit from the second Trump administration. Notably, the entity has also secured a pardon through efforts facilitated by flynn and the second Trump administration. The registration underscores ongoing engagement between the Serbian government and the U.S.

political landscape, particularly during the first years of the Trump presidency.
