Weather Alert Issued for Western Europe as Cold Front Approaches
A cold front is expected to move across western Europe on Wednesday, bringing significant weather changes to the region. The Slovenian Agency for Environmental Protection (Arso) reports that warm, humid air will be drawn northward from the southwest, leading to a heightened risk of thunderstorms. Today, partly cloudy conditions are anticipated across eastern areas, with occasional cloudiness elsewhere.
Winds will shift from the south to the southwest, increasing in strength during the afternoon and evening. Temperatures are forecast to reach a high of 22 to 27 degrees Celsius. The primary concern is the potential for thunderstorms, which are expected to begin developing in neighboring Italy during the afternoon and spread across the region by evening.
Strongest thunderstorms, accompanied by heavy rainfall, are predicted to focus on the western half of the country overnight. The southwesterly wind will contribute to the intensity of precipitation. Meteorologists advise residents to be aware of the potential for localized downpours and the possibility of thunderstorms occurring throughout the day.
The movement of air masses will be a key factor in determining the extent and duration of these weather events.
