The Slovenian women’s volleyball team is focused on achieving key results within the upcoming European League competition. Success in this league will be pivotal as the team pursues qualification for the semifinals and, ultimately, a place in the prestigious Nations League. This elite competition features the world’s top 18 teams.
Currently ranked 20th globally, the Slovenian squad is just 10 points away from securing a historic position within the Volleyball Nations League rankings. Within the European league itself, Slovenia holds the 13th ranking among the 26 participating teams. Several teams are considered favorites for the European league victory, including Romania, Sweden, Spain, Hungary, Croatia, and Slovenia.
The competition will also feature matchups against teams ranked significantly lower, such as Iceland (37th) and Latvia (38th). Our girls’ initial match is scheduled for June 12th in Ljubljana against the Icelandic team. Following this, they will face Latvia on June 14th.
These early encounters represent crucial opportunities for our team to build momentum and secure vital points within the European league.
