Child Seriously Injured in Cycling Accident in Škofja Loka
Police responded to an incident on Sunday at approximately 1:00 p.m. in the Škofja Loka area involving a child and a cycling accident. According to initial reports, a child was cycling on a macadam road with his father when the incident occurred.
The child reportedly lost control while navigating a left turn near a bridge spanning a stream. He subsequently fell off the road and entered the stream. Emergency medical services were immediately dispatched to the scene and provided initial assistance to the injured child.
Due to the severity of his injuries, the child was transported by helicopter to the University Clinical Centre (UKBC) Ljubljana for further medical treatment. Police initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Officers conducted a thorough inspection of the area and will subsequently report all findings to the competent district state prosecutor.
