2TDK Announces Permit Process for New Railway Track
2TDK has announced the commencement of the permit process for the utilization of the newly constructed second track between Divača and Koper. The project, one of the country’s largest and most demanding infrastructure undertakings, began construction in 2021. Securing a permit is a crucial initial step, requiring a thorough assessment of all conditions ensuring the safe operation of the railway infrastructure.
This includes verification of construction works, geotechnical measures, implemented safety systems, and adherence to both environmental and technical regulations. The construction of the second track necessitated significant work, including the discovery and mitigation of numerous karst caves – the largest of which required the installation of overpasses. Following the attainment of this initial permit, a separate permit will be required to authorize the commencement of operational use.
This will ultimately integrate the new line fully into the national railway transport system. The project represents a substantial investment in infrastructure and continues to be a key development for the region. A photograph of the construction, titled “Bobo,” was included with the announcement.
