The protest at Slavija square ended peacefully around 8 pm, and then individual protest groups, including some masked, clashed with the police who were protecting the rally of Vučić’s supporters, which was held simultaneously, reports the Croatian press agency Hina. Aleksandar Vučić, who began his visit to China today, wrote on Instagram that the protesters did not unveil their plan, but only showed their violent nature. “After the violence on the streets of Belgrade, I once again call them to dialogue and hope that they will understand that citizens of Serbia do not think the same as they do,” Vučić wrote.
Interior Minister Ivica Dacic reported that police were attacked around 8:20 pm. After the attack, 23 people were detained.
