She successfully repeated the feat, and this time, it was particularly special, occurring on her home ground in Planica, a location she had always desired to compete in. Prevc’s performance resulted in a significant improvement to both her personal best and a world record, increasing her distance by 6.5 meters. A year prior, she had witnessed her brother, Domen, set a world record in the men’s competition at the same venue.
She hadn’t anticipated having the chance to compete herself. “I hadn’t realized there would be a women’s opportunity present last year,” she explained. “With the season already concluded, I wasn’t considering any jumps.
Of course, one might think, ‘It would be fantastic if I could do it too.’ I was genuinely surprised by the decision to hold a competition here this season.”
