A turning point in Washington: Trump sends 5000 soldiers to Poland

“Based on the successful election of the current Polish President Karol Nawrocki, whom I supported with pleasure, and our relations with him, I am pleased to announce that the United States will send an additional 5,000 soldiers to Poland. Thank you for your attention to this matter,” US President Donald Trump posted on the Truth Social network. The announcement came shortly after his administration abruptly canceled a major military exercise in Poland, later announcing that it had only been postponed, and announced that it would withdraw 5,000 soldiers from Germany.

The Polish official and NATO representative, who wished to remain anonymous, told Politico that they were surprised by the decision, which the government had not discussed with allies in advance. Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski thanked Trump for the announced decision today.
